National Wine Day

In honor of National Wine Day, here are some great wineries to visit in New England! Being from California, I thought Napa was going to be tough to beat as far as wineries go, but I was pleasantly surprised at the charm of some of these New England vineyards. These wineries have more of a rustic, farm like vibe which I absolutely love. The wines are delicious too, whats not to like?

La Garagista, Vermont

Located on Mount Hunger, this farm to wine vineyard focuses on natural alpine and ciders. Not only do they grow wine but they also grow veggies, fruits, flowers and herbs which are all featured at their restaurant kitchen at "osteria pane e salute". If agriculture and farm life is your thing, this winery will not disappoint!

Shelburne Vineyard, Vermont

Known for their cold climate Marquette vines, these ice wines have been awarded the gold medal for the " best of" category in multiple competitions. Located on 17 acres, this modern country side vineyard has quite the views.

Cellardoor Winery, Maine

Located in Lincolnville, this winery offers a more laid back approach and is known for their 200 year old barn. They focus on providing a warm, approachable and overall Maine like experience. Your guaranteed to feel like home here!

Truro Vineyards, Cape Cod

Known for their pristine beaches and small boutique like restaurants, Truro is also home to a hidden gem of a vineyard. This family operated winery is known for some of their award winning cabernet franc and chardonnay wines.  A definite stop on the way to the cape!
