Welcoming in the Fall

Posted on September 19, 2014 by Fiber and Water | 0 comments

The feeling of Fall is strong these days in New England. The green trees are just beginning to change to yellow, orange and red. The air is crisp and refreshing with a little snap to it. Last year around this time the Fiber and Water crew was enjoying a lovely apple picking adventure.

With rain in the forecast we braved the orchards with rain coats and determination. Being the only pickers on the orchard that day, we had full reign of the place. We had gone towards the end of the season, so the ground held dozens of rotten apples that had fallen, the perfect kind for apple ball.

The feeling of cozy fall is prime time for the home. It's the time for a little redecorating, incorporating earth tones, and enjoying the warmth of home. Who better to look to for home ideas than Martha herself. The Vintage Painted Orchard Baskets really caught my eye. Just a few simple steps and you have a fall apple picking inspired accent for the mudroom, kitchen, or even bathroom!

I just love these stacked baskets! A nice goldenrod or burnt orange would be great too. I'll be on the hunt for more Fall favorites in home decor, especially DIY.  Enjoy your weekend, everybody!
