Christmas Party Appetizers

Posted on December 24, 2015 by Fiber and Water | 0 comments

Christmas is here and we had a great time at the Fiber and Water holiday party, hosted by owners Miles and April! April went all out , like always, with delicious appetizers and entrees. We thought we would share some appetizer just in case you are scrambling to come up with some food to bring over the next couple of days, to all those holiday parties and dinners.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Cheese Plate

Everyone loves a good cheese plate. There is nothing much to this besides the basic cheese, fruit, salami, olives and crackers. What really makes this is the presentation. You can do a lot with cheese plates by putting the items on a nice cutting board and dressing it up with cranberries and rosemary. Festive and appealing!

Quinoa Kale Patties

This is the perfect appetizer for those vegetarian guests. I quite frankly love these even though I am not vegetarian. They are so delicious and are a great alternative to crab cakes if you do not like crab. This is a must try, always a hit when I make these!

Crab Cakes

Now on to the real stuff for all those seafood lovers. These crab cakes were gone in minutes! Who doesn't love a perfectly good crab cake? One of the best recipes I've tasted yet!

Bruschetta

April's famous bruschetta, yumm! Although I didn't get her exact recipe I found one close enough. You can buy the bread crisps at whole foods and pop them in the oven, they are so good!

Caramelized Onion and Mushroom Puffs

I also made these with some of the vegetarian guests in mind, and took a gamble since I had never made these before but I was very pleasantly surprised! These were so tasty; the combination of onions, mushrooms and gruyere cheese was a perfect combination. Caramelizing the onions in balsamic vinegar also added a great savory flavor to the filling of the pasty puffs.

Bacon Wrapped Scallops

The bacon wrapped scallops were gone in seconds, hence why I wasn't able to get a picture. You really can't go wrong with these. I don't think I've ever met someone who doesn't like bacon wrapped scallops! This recipe adds a spicy cilantro dipping sauce which sounds delicious but is completely optional. I personally think the scallops were delicious on their own.

Miles enjoying a good pour form Rising Tide.

Enjoy your Holiday everyone!
